Our call for more sustainable multi-year funding to help deliver long-term public service transformation in Northern Ireland (NI) has been highlighted in a new Executive report.

The report, , looked at the financial challenges faced by its public services and what measures it may have to take to meet its responsibilities 鈥� including options for revenue raising.

Sustainable long-term funding needed

Its main recommendation echoed our call for more sustainable funding to support the聽Executive and third sector so they can help deliver the long-term transformation needed in struggling public services.

鈥淚t鈥檚 great the Committee has taken onboard so many of our recommendations in the written evidence we submitted earlier this year.

鈥淣orthern Ireland鈥檚 public services remain in crisis. Its health service is under immense pressure, with long waiting lists, a struggling primary care sector and an acute mental health situation.

鈥淲e know that as well as the human cost of mental ill health, there are costs to society from care, treatment and lost productivity.聽

鈥淭hat鈥檚 why we鈥檙e pleased the Committee included our calls for more sustainable investment in long-term mental health services to provide the necessary to support vulnerable people.鈥�
