Congratulations to Olivia Jones for her research, 'Investigating how trainee and qualified counsellors navigate the mental toll of working in a hospice setting.'
Olivia’s research aimed to explore the lived experience of counsellors working in a hospice, including how they experienced and responded to the mental toll of their profession, and how they were supported.
Previous research regarding working with grief and bereavement in hospice settings has mostly focused on nurses. However, this qualitative study focused on how counsellors navigate the mental toll of their profession working in a hospice.
Findings have been able to identify counsellors’ use of self-care and reflection techniques, while also highlighting the importance of workplace belonging and organisational support.
"I felt incredibly shocked and truly grateful to receive the news that I'd won the new researcher award 2025. I'm so thankful that my research has gained such recognition from the ŠÊ˜·³ÇëŠ×ÓÍÆË]."
Many congratulations to Olivia from all at ŠÊ˜·³ÇëŠ×ÓÍÆË].Â
